Please check your PupilPath mail for very important login information. We have a classroom edition of the NY Times available to us - latest issue plus 30 days of back issues. We will be starting an Opinion Project soon. This will be an invaluable resource to help you find and read editorials.
We will review this project in class next week. You will receive a handout that explains the task, including resources to help you find editorials and opinion pieces, and the project rubric. We will review an editorial together first, then you will select your own, read it, and analyze it, and submit the work approximately every 2 weeks. Details to come!
**Please note, if you not have signed up for PupilPath emails, you are missing out on important announcements. Please sign up ASAP***

Welcome to AP Lang!
I am very excited to welcome you to a challenging year of AP English Language and Composition.
Personal Supplies:
- This is a college-level course. You are expected to be prepared each day and keep pace. Read your e-mail everyday and check the blog everyday. Ask questions when you need clarification.
- Please purchase your supplies immediately (see list below) and have them in class on Monday Sept. 11. The first book we will read is Night. Please order that now. You will need it in a few weeks (date will be posted on blog and in classroom).
- Please donate at least one box of tissues and at least one bottle of hand sanitizer to the class.
- I also keep loose leaf paper on hand in class. If everyone brings in one pack for classroom use, we shouldn't run out for a while (yes, we do a LOT of writing). Please also donate as many packs of large, lined index cards as you can. We do a LOT of entrance/exit slips and short reflections using index cards.
Personal Supplies:
- Composition Notebooks - 2 (Notes/Vocab; Dialectical Journals/HW). Please DO NOT buy spiral notebooks or binders for class use.
- Loose Leaf Paper
- Blue and Black Pens (no pencils or other colored pens for your work, please)
- Fine point markers - for annotation
- Highlighters - color variety pack
- Post-it-notes - 6 lined or unlined, large or regular size
- Post-it-tabs - for annotation
- Index Cards (large, lined)
Required Readings:
Please purchase your own copy of each text for readings in class and at home. You must be able to write in these books. If you have any trouble purchasing any of these books, please see me well in advance of the due date. When the time comes for our readings, I will inform you on the class assignment board, by announcement, and on this blog.
See you Thursday, Sept. 7!
Mrs. Marks
